Accolades helps fund-raise for new MRI machine at Rouge Valley Health System

In the fall of 2010 and spring of 2011, Sharon Wilcken, Owner of Accolades Events, was a volunteer on the Rouge Valley Health System MRI “Image is Everything” Campaign.  In February 2011, she initiated a spin-a-thon at the Women’s Fitness Club in the Pickering Town Centre.  Just one of the community events that helped raise over $5M to bring the new MRI machine to the Rouge Valley Pickering and Ajax hospital.

Accolades Events runs 2009 Markham Ribfest

After 3 years of working behind the scenes on the Markham Ribfest, Accolades Events became the official Event Coordinators for the 2009 festival with help from the Rotary Club of Markham Sunrise.

Features of the event included award-winning ribs (of course!), exhibitors, vendors, and over two days of highly acclaimed Canadian musical entertainment, including Juno award winner Jack De Keyzer, as well as an emphasis on family fun, with an expanded mid-way, roving circus entertainers and a scavenger hunt.

OSEB Group 25 gives back to the community

In June of 2008, graduates of the Ontario Self-Employment Benefit Program decided to give back to the community by choosing a charity to support.  They chose to help the Bethesda House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, to refit their “Second Chance” clothing store in time for their August 15 reopening.
